Collector’s Notes

Composition:
This triptych portrays a single textured tree trunk spanning three canvases, set against shifting tones of sky and earth. Small blossoms emerge delicately from its bark — subtle yet powerful symbols of renewal. The vertical alignment emphasizes both rootedness and growth, as if the tree itself is a living spring, coiled with potential energy and resilience.

Color & Texture:
The lush greens at the base transition into cooler blues above, reflecting the transition from the thaw of winter to the clarity of early spring skies. The bark is rendered with striking texture, inviting touch, while the blossoms bring vibrancy — gentle signs of life against a weathered surface.

Medium & Detail:
Heavy texture on the trunk contrasts with the smoother atmospheric background, grounding the work while allowing the eye to wander into the open space. Hidden within the bark are darker, coiled forms resembling springs — a metaphor for the resilience that allows us to bounce back from life’s pressures.

Style & Story:
Blending realism with abstraction, the work carries dual meaning. Spring is both the celebrated season of renewal and the physical spring that recoils but always returns to its form. The imagery bridges natural cycles with human resilience, reminding us that hope blooms even after the harshest winters.

Emotional Connection:
The piece radiates a sense of perseverance and optimism. It encourages viewers to find strength in their own capacity to recover, much like the tree that endures winter only to bloom again. The blossoms are gentle whispers of hope — small, yet powerful enough to transform the entire landscape.

Context & Significance:
Created in 2018, this work emerged from reflections on both the harshness of seasonal cold and the universal need to “spring back” from life’s challenges. It stands as a visual meditation on renewal, endurance, and the quiet beauty of beginnings.

Message from the Artist

When painting Spring, I was captivated by the sense of relief that comes after long dormancy. The colors burst forth almost impatiently, as though the earth itself cannot hold back its vitality any longer. I sought to capture that exuberance — the quiet persistence of life, waiting beneath winter’s stillness, suddenly visible.

But spring is more than bloom; it is a lesson in resilience. The flowers rise not in defiance of hardship, but because of it, nourished by the patience of cold months. I embedded textures to echo this duality — fragility on the surface, strength beneath.

For me, this piece is about hope that feels earned rather than granted. It is the reminder that growth often arrives after struggle, and that renewal is always closer than we think.
