Collector’s Notes

Composition

Imagine unfolds as a panoramic cityscape, abstracted and interconnected, stretching horizontally like a shared horizon. Circular forms, flowing white lines, and repeating arcs move across the surface, visually linking structures, symbols, and spaces. There is no single dominant focal point—instead, the eye travels continuously, mirroring the idea of unity and collective existence.

Color & Energy

Warm golds and earthy yellows dominate the background, evoking hope, light, and possibility. These are punctuated by cooler blues, muted greys, and occasional reds, suggesting both the complexity of urban life and the emotional contrasts that define humanity. The overall energy is expansive and optimistic, carrying a quiet radiance rather than urgency.

Medium & Texture

Layered textures give the surface a lived-in quality. Marble powder and paper introduce density and tactility, while scraped, written, and embedded elements create depth beneath the paint. Subtle text, musical notes, and marks emerge and recede, encouraging slow looking and discovery—much like understanding a city or a society itself.

Style & Story

Conceptual and symbolic, Imagine draws inspiration from John Lennon’s iconic song, translating its message into visual language. The city here is not bound by borders, hierarchies, or divisions; instead, everything is connected through flowing lines and shared space. Brick walls, rocks, butterflies, and music coexist, reflecting life in all its contradictions—struggle and beauty, weight and freedom.

Emotional Connection

This work invites viewers to pause and reflect on possibility. It does not demand agreement or perfection; it simply asks us to imagine. Many viewers experience a sense of calm optimism—a reminder that hope begins as an idea, and that imagining a better world is the first act toward creating one.

Context & Significance

Created in a time when global divisions remain deeply visible, Imagine feels enduringly relevant. It speaks to universal desires for peace, dignity, belonging, and access—to food, healthcare, education, and human connection. For collectors, the piece functions as both social reflection and personal aspiration, offering a vision of what humanity could become when compassion leads.

Message from the Artist

This painting grew from a song that has stayed with me for decades. Imagine asks us to look beyond the structures we’ve inherited—borders, labels, possessions—and consider what truly matters.

When I worked on this piece, I imagined a city where everyone has options, support, and dignity. A place where being alone is a choice, not a condition. Where people are seen, heard, and cared for.

This is my imaginary city—messy, layered, imperfect, but connected. And my hope is simple: that by imagining such a place, we might begin to embody the kindness, generosity, and courage needed to build it, one small action at a time.
