Collector’s Notes

Composition:
Golden hues wash across the canvas, evoking warmth and timelessness. Circles and spirals, drawn in delicate white lines, weave across the scene — binding together abstract architectural forms that rise like dreamlike cityscapes. A glowing sun radiates from the upper left corner, bathing the piece in a sense of hope and continuity.

Color & Texture:
The palette moves between earthy yellows, ochres, and muted greens, punctuated with reds and blues in the vertical structures. The textured surface — layered with marble powder, paper, and paint — holds fragments of musical notes, text, butterflies, and masonry-like forms. This tactile layering creates a dialogue between fragility and resilience, echoing the struggles and aspirations of human life.

Medium & Technique:
Through the use of acrylics, textured mediums, and collage elements, the artist builds a cityscape that feels both grounded and ethereal. The swirling white motifs unify the composition, suggesting interconnectedness, harmony, and the flow of shared human experience.

Style & Story:
Imagine is an homage to John Lennon’s timeless song and its vision of peace and unity. The abstract city depicted is not a literal place but a symbolic one — a collective dream of a society where barriers dissolve, and compassion, equality, and creativity thrive.

Emotional Connection:
The piece encourages the viewer not just to look but to participate — to imagine with the artist what kind of world we could build if peace and empathy guided us. It speaks directly to hope, community, and the power of shared ideals.

Context & Significance:
Created in 2016, the work resonates with ongoing social and cultural challenges, reminding us of the enduring relevance of Lennon’s words. The painting extends beyond the song’s call, envisioning a city where all are supported — a deeply personal yet universally human dream.

Message from the Artist

This work was my attempt to give form to a longing that feels both personal and universal: the dream of a world without barriers, where compassion transcends division. While inspired by John Lennon’s lyrics, I wanted to move beyond homage and explore how such ideals might materialize visually. The city I painted is interconnected, pulsing with light and texture, suggesting a place where struggle and beauty coexist.

The fragments of text, musical notes, and architectural elements represent the layered realities of human life — the obstacles we inherit and the harmonies we can choose to create. Butterflies, walls, and stones all find space in this world, because peace is not the absence of challenge, but the ability to rise above it with courage and solidarity.

For me, Imagine is less about a utopia and more about possibility. It is a reminder that the act of imagining — of daring to believe in what could be — is itself a radical and transformative force.
