Composition:
Seven radiant bursts emanate from circular mirrored centers, each projecting golden-white rays across a textured brick wall backdrop. The luminous circles seem like miniature suns or cosmic portals, their reflections pulling the viewer inward while sending energy outward.
Symbolism:
The number 7, celebrated as auspicious across cultures, is the central theme. Seven continents, seven seas, seven days of the week — the number represents completeness, universality, and spirituality. Here, each circle embodies the qualities of introspection, wisdom, and illumination. The brick wall background suggests life’s inevitable obstacles, while the mirrors act as both literal and metaphorical reflections, reminding us that true guidance lies within.
Medium & Technique:
The artist builds depth with textured paper, marble powder, and layered acrylics, creating a tactile golden backdrop. Radiating strokes bring dynamism, while embedded mirrors transform the viewer into part of the piece — their own image completing the artwork.
Style & Story:
Infused with both spiritual and symbolic abstraction, Good Luck balances structure (the brick wall) with effervescent energy (the radiant circles). The handwritten words — “Let your light shine bright!” — anchor the work’s uplifting message, making it not only a visual experience but an affirmation.
Emotional Connection:
The work emanates positivity, inspiring viewers to embrace their inner light despite barriers. It encourages perseverance, reflection, and trust in one’s own path.
Context & Significance:
Created in 2012, Good Luck follows the artist’s recurring exploration of spiritual growth and resilience, connecting thematically to works like Wisdom (2010) and Namaste (2010). Each piece underscores the possibility of transformation and radiance even amidst challenges.
Message from the Artist
When I began working on Good Luck, I was drawn to the symbolic weight of the number seven. To me, it represents far more than luck — it speaks to intuition, wisdom, and an inner light that guides us when external circumstances feel uncertain. I wanted to capture that sense of spiritual alignment in a visual form.
The mirrors became central to the composition because they invite the viewer to literally see themselves within the work. In a way, they transform the painting into a dialogue — a reminder that the “light” we seek is already within us. Surrounding these reflective circles with radiating textures gave me a sense of energy breaking through barriers, almost like sparks of possibility igniting against the weight of life’s walls.
For me, this piece is ultimately about resilience and self-trust. Luck is not something that drifts in from outside; it’s what we create when we allow our own brilliance to surface. My hope is that this work encourages people to pause, look inward, and remember that their light is not fragile — it is powerful, radiant, and entirely their own.
